I did try many setting, it doesn't work, and found that Oppo N1 just work for China version of 3g, anyone can help me how to upgrade the firmware any other trick to ensure this Oppo N1 working with 3G in Australia? Thanks

  • alot if these phones you need to manually put in your apn settings and 3g and data will work i actually done it with a newman n2 a couple of days ago

    get settings from here

  • Make sure you enable Data in the Dual sim management settings panel of the phone. Also be aware that SIM slot 1 is the 3g Slot, and that's where you should place your data SIM.

There are actually 2 or 3 settings you need to change as well, but I can't remember them. Play around in the SIM settings until you get HSDPA reception.

  • i did all the trick about apn, still doesn't work, i have read one of the article mentioned if that was purchase in china, they have installed for wdcma, but no further information how to upgrade the firmware or anything else to upgrade for 3g connection.

  • it is the right band for your provider?

    • on this link http://www.mobicity.com.au/oppo-n1.html#.UxKFAfmSxyw it said the below network that supported this n1

i am not sure how the mobicity do the trick to make this n1 work in australia, but at n1 forum it said "Chinese N1T works only within China due to TD-WCDMA", i don't know what is td-wdcma and 3g

      Network Band GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850, 3G 900, 3G 1700, 3G 1900, 3G 2100

      • +1

        TD-WCDMA - china only network.

        • the question is if i can update the firmware that allow me to use 3g in australia

  • I believe that some high-end phones DO have extensive country-specific band capability, circuit-wise and otherwise present and able to function, but hidden in a service menu.

In the absence of knowing the specific number and symbols code to punch in to gain access to the menu, maybe there are, or will be, custom roms out that will help.
Either way - or in relation to maybe tracking down the actual hidden menu code - you have some forum reading and other googling to do…

Let us know how you fare.
