    Don't know what shoes you're looking at but I'm at footlocker in Times Square now and here are just some select shoes and their pricing. I believe Eastbay and Footlocker are related so the prices might be the same.

      NYC will have sales tax levied on the purchase so you need to add another 10 to 15% to those prices

        Sales tax is ~8.84% (4% for New York, additional 4.84% for NYC, from recollection).

    It can be difficult if you're after a specific model as a lot of outlets/online stores have good deals but it depends on your luck as to what's on sale when you're looking

    If you're after a specific shoe, I found shoesontheweb (https://www.shoesontheweb.com/store/default.asp) cheaper than EastBay. I bought Asics Kayano 19s for US$76 using a running 10% off code (TenOff) and they offer free delivery and free exchanges. Refunds cost $7. I got mine delivered within 3-4 days and were super easy to deal with. I would suggest checking them out and googling for other stores because once you're in the US, it opens up a lot of other stores that offer free shipping.

  Dammit… kind of… Made my first purchase from them on Saturday. The other 20% deal expired but I manage to Google a $15 off $75 code that worked (I think I got it from retailmenot.com… but can't fully remember). Bought a pair of shoes, and two pairs of shorts plus postage came to around $135 US. Minus the $15, I think I came out OK. Still 20% would have been better.

  There is a $20 discount kicking around somewhere on the net. The one I tried to use had expired though.

  Good post OP. Shame I missed it by 24 hours! Eastbay keeps offering discounts. Hope my experience turns out positive with them.

      with the free shipping code for the USA only, use that to ship to to the forwarder for free. you can easily save upwards of 50%
