  • Wait, what does "most affordable" mean? Cheap and scummy so long as you can play? Or solid quality at a reasonable price? Because any cheap dick smith, soniq, palsonic, teac, ect TV will play your PS4 but the quality of the panel won't be that great comparatively to something that cost a bit more.
Though the TV we have at work is a cheaper brand and it looks really good. I think its a Sharp but I can't remember.

Some ideas that aren't the most affordable:

That isn't a bad deal but I have never checked it out personally (I probably have seen it in there just didn't realize it lol).

The LG 42 inch was on sale a few weeks back. Parents got it, panel is really nice, the 100Hz looks very smooth. If it was still on sale it wouldn't be a bad choice either. (http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/lg/42-inch-full-h…), but yeah, not on sale atm.

For gaming only? Some of the advice above isn't accurate, so I'll explain:

    • 100Hz: PS4 does 60fps at most, so any standard TV will do. Do not pay extra for this feature.
    • You don't want smart TV features. Nor 3D.
    • You don't need MotionSmoothing, SuperResolution, CoolMarketingHere etc. The TV needs to be in Game Mode so you don't get input lag. These features are turned off in Game Mode anyway.

Just get the cheapest TV you can see, it'll be fine. Make sure it's LCD and you view it in the store before purchase.

  • 2c - You paid $600~ for the PS4, spend more than $400 on the TV, $600-800 will get you a really nice setup.
