    I use MetroView. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metroview.…
$20 from the Play Store, and with a $14 per year subscription you get speed camera alerts. Otherwise, $20 one time payment for lifetime map updates. Good value.

If you're too poor to afford Metroview then use Navfree. However, address searches require internet connection (not sure if it still applies now).

    • I love metro view. Just make sure you are on wifi when you download as all maps will be downloaded. I use to use on my iPhone 4 and kept using in on android. Best thing is, it does not use data. The app still works on my iPhone without a sim card. Just uses internal GPS

  • Are there any that dont need a sub ? Like one time payment?
either way thanks for the reply and I'll still look into it

    • None of them need a sub. Turn by turn subscriptions don't exist anymore, but additional services (Camera alerts, traffic alerts) usually need a sub.

  • I use Copilot GPS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alk.copilo…), and am happy with it. I've been using it since my time in the UK, so own UK and AU/NZ maps.

  • I use "city maps for free". Got it when it was available to be downloaded from free (yes, that was on ozbargain). Not sure what it costs though.

    • i got that too the city maps 2 go app of the day is there are way to calculate routes offline ?

  • I use sygic and am very happy with it.

    • +1 for Sygic, works well, the money I save on OzBargain deals go's towards stupid stuff like Homer Simpsons voice for Sygic lol

  • Tomtom for Android seems better.
No mobile signal or Data connection required. Trusted anywhere..

Google Maps. Just download your area before heading out on WiFi.

from my experience it dosnt let you calculate a new route without using data

      • ^ this

What phone do you have? If you have a Samsung, you should be able to download Navigon from Samsung's app Store for free. You get offline turn by turn navigation and speed alerts.

        • i have a HTC one

  • Google maps with "ok map" command
