  • Thanks for posting. Now I can claim the price difference from my credit card, since I bought this TV from JB in Jan for $100 more.

  • We recently [two days ago] bought the 50inch F6400 from Costco for a little under $1000 once factoring in multiple cashbacks via ING Paywave. Very nice tv but shame about the limited DLNA and absent SMB support :(

    • +1

Limited DLNA? Use Plex for media streaming!

      • Yeah, most TV interfaces aren't the best. At the moment, external boxes are the best way to stream stuff. Well from what I've seen anyway.

    thanks just bought 1

  • How much streaming do you want.. I have this TV and it streams from my computer once I loaded all share on it.. It streams from the drive attached to my modem..

That is a bit of streaming and my friend was streaming from his Galaxy S4 phone to my TV to watch a show called Talkibg Dead which follows The Walking Dead show

  • The issue isn't that it can't stream to the TV, but the lack of control when streaming from a media server. You can't pause, fwd, rwd, skip to a certain time. You have to watch it from start to finish.
Only way around this is using USB or use a samsung phone or tab to mirror/share to the TV, which gives you control of the content. Or using other apps like Plex.

    • Negotiated further and just bought 1 for $1611.

I bought one 2 weeks ago from The Good Guys. Their ad price was $1,787 but they have guarantee price match with further 5% as their policy. I found that "appliance central" has them for $1,619 so asked for price match. They did! I also took advantage of "The Block" cash back promo, eligible for $200 cash back making the price down to $1,416. Further negotiated for warranty (extending it in total for 3years), final price paid was $1,750 (excluding cashback) which adds up to $1,550 including the cashback.
<One condition, the supplier MUST have stock and the good guys MUST have stock> I drove in to about 3-4 places to find stock!

    • Yep - still $1619 at Appliance Central, good find - http://appliancecentral.com.au/shop/index.php?route=product/…

And free shipping to selected cities only, but depending on where you are it could be still cheaper with delivery than the $1696 JB price.

    • you paid $334 for 2 years warranty? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY?!!

      • ah the great warranty scam. all goods are supposed to last for the purpose intended, no matter what the warranty says. recently they said that for TV's this is about 5 years.

      • Plz recalculate……
        $1,416 after cash back.
Overall total after cash back but also including warranty $1,550.

Therefore the price of warranty is $132 which was also negotiable down from $150 or so dollars!
2 years more warranty for $132 is reasonable IMO.

My previous samsung led tv died on me in its 18mths of use. So played it safe this time.

BTW love the colour, clarity and price!

        • Sorry, I meant $134…. still $134 too much. TV is expected to last easily 3 years so under consumer law you would get this replaced/fixed for free anyway.

    • Saw this Good Guys Promo… it was really good with their lower price + the $200 cash back. and price guarantee made it even better. all this 1 month after I already bought my TV. Arrrggghhhh…

so all I have to look forward to is JB hifi dropping its price as much as possible, and put in a claim with my 28 degrees mastercard for the price difference.
