Refund Titanfall pre-order - bought via Mexican VPN

Having pre-ordered the Titanfall standard edition via mexican VPN (using paypal),I now want to refund it so I can get the Deluxe edition (includes the season pass) for 100mxn extra. The season pass by itself costs ~199mxn extra. From EA Orgin FAQ, it seems I need to request a refund via the EA live chat. Requesting the refund from the live chat seems a bit risky, and I don't want to get my account or games banned.

Has anyone attempted (successfully) to get a refund from a Origin purchases bought using Mexican VPN??

  • Go to and login: http://help.ea.com/au/
Go to manage account > order management > Order history
Click + icon on Titanfall, if there's a cancel button click it if not use email support and say you want to upgrade and they will refund, they won't ban you for wanting to give them more money.

If you're scared just pay for the DLC separately, only $8 more.

    • That only works after the game has been released on the 13/3. Prior to that, EA help says I need to contact their help team for the refund. Also got the BF4 premium in the same transaction and in the order history, there doesn't seem to be an option to request a refund or cancel button. I am worried that they might notice the aus registration details with mexican purchase history.

  • Out of interest, what was the AUD saving by purchasing it via the VPN?

    • From memory, Standard edition was 499mxn ~$42AUD. As opposed to $79.99 advertised from origin au.

      • Thanks. Amazing how much you can save just by changing the location …

  • Sorted out the refund with EA live chat staff and got my refund immediately via Paypal. The EA chat staff did not question any discrepancy with my mexican transaction. All good so far, my account and games are all intact. Bought the Titanfall Deluxe Edition for 599mxn (~$50AUD), much better then the the local $99.99 pricing :D

    • I might have to grab that also, cheers.
