PS: For those who can wait, IGN gave the first game away (HD version included) for free last year - that's two to three years after it was released. For those who loved the first game, this is worth every cent @ $0.99.
They have actually just added a voodoo priestest hero. Haven't played it in a while as I have been stuck on one of the challenge levels after completing the main quest.
Think that's when you need to pay to win and get one of the non-free heroes or really grind and load up on consumable special powers.

Just checked appshopper and you are right the iphone version's been $0.99 a couple of times but it's the first time they have dropped the ipad version to $0.99. Will change the title and body.
Great fun this game, but I wish it was possible to beat every level on hard (and with full stars) without needing to buy stuff (with in game gold). Just takes the sense of achievement away.
But yeah, probably my favourite tower defence on iPad.
