  • I'm interested in this pillow as I'm always on the lookout to find the right pillow for a good nights sleep. Will this make a lot of noise as you have to fill it with water. I'm a side sleeper is this good for all sleeping positions and would it be cool on your neck as well because of the water; especially if you fill it with cold water or what temperature of the water is ideal.

No price in title, poster signed up 10 minutes before posting, smells like a rep, have to sign in to the website to get the actual price. All ways to p!ss off OzBargainers

If people want to know, it's $32 for one, $59 for a twin pack. Probably have to add freight.

EDIT: Even better, just realised it's OzSale - I'm boycotting these guys for their poor customer service. Refused to refund a product that was incorrectly size labelled.

Looks like it's $32 for one or $59 for a twin pack.

Thanks bugmenot.com for that account so I didn't have to sign up :D

  • seems like a cool idea…but wouldnt it be cold in winter?

  • +3

Great price. Think I paid $120 for mine from my Physio.

    To answer some questions:
Not cold in winter (I live in Canberra whee it gets down to -5 in winter). The water stays at room temperature and your head is never in direct contact with the water bladder. It Durant matter what water you fill it with because it will start at room temperature after the temp stabilises. You fill it once, assist to your needs and then forget it. You don't refill this on a regular basis like a hot water bottle.

It only makes noise if you leave air in the water bladder. Then the water kind of sloshes around when you move or turn over. It's easy to get the air out.

It comes with a screw in funnel to fill the water bladder. Also useful for emptying out excess water if you fill it too much.

Spend done time filling and trying it out before going to bed for the night. You will definitely need to adjust the water level a few times to get it right for your size.

I bought one because I have quite broad shoulders and am primarily a side sleeper. It's always been difficult for me to find a suitable pillow that allows me to sleep on my side without my neck bending down to the pillow.
This allows me to full it with enough water that my neck is aligned with the rest of my sound.

I do also sleep on my back sometimes and have found it to be quite adaptable.

The biggest downside is the weight. My pillow is probably about 8kg. And it's awkward to put your pillow case on. My girlfriend can't do it, because if the weight and the pillow flops around.

I would suggest everyone give it a try at this price. You spend about 50 hours per week on your pillow. Make it worthwhile.

    • 8Kgs?…wow…

Ok, I'm sold, getting the twin pack…

errr…what about the cases? what sort of cases do you use? can you use the normal size pillow case?

      thanks

      • Yep, Normal pillow cases.

    • Hi thedriver,

Great review; I have bad reflux and was gonna buy one of these wedge pillows,

      http://www.clarkrubber.com.au/clark-care-bed-wedge.html

Would a Mediflow allow for a slanted position? (I ask because you say you have broad shoulders and is still able to sleep comfortably on your side - ie. the Mediflow has high clearance off the bed)

  • Reviews on Amazon look good too.

Shipping from OzSale is $9.95 btw.

  • I am using electric blanket. Will the water. ..emmm… heated?

    • Does the electric blanket go under the pillow area of your bed?
It might heat it a little but I wouldn't imagine it would be noticeable. The water bladder is insulated and would not come in direct contact with the heat source, so any heating would be minimal.
Imagine trying to heat a pot of water holding it 1cm above the stove, it doesn't heat very well because it is not in direct contact with the heat.
