Best frozen pizza there is - it actually tasted genuinely GOOD!
Not like the experience of eating bloated cardboard that the other frozen crapola simulates.

Time to stock up on fungi!

      • Yeah it easily the best one, soooo good :)

Used to be even better when they first introduced them a few years ago - back then they were made in Germany.

Meanwhile they built/bought a factory here and the quality of the toppings has suffered, the salami especially, it went from my favourite variety to least favourite of the lot. Still better than other brands though.

Hmm.. The mozzarella, spinaci and fungi we have here, just picked up from Coles, are all made in Germany.

        • Dr Oetker sounds like that guy in a trench-coat who dissects and plasticizers people

        • gunther von hagens but i agree that dr oetker sounds like him for some reason.

Had plenty while living in the UK & Ireland. The borderline of 'cheap' food. Fine when you're BROKE. No, not really.

    • Except the ham and pineapple pizza, the pineapple is gross. Pretty sure they have used a chemical or something on it before it was frozen.

    • I don't understand why it's popular actually, I found the base to be very dry and biscuit-like.

You have to remember not to use a baking tray, just straight onto the rack

    • It is Germany. dr Oetker best frozen pizza out there.

  • Woolworths brand is quite good. The coles brand is inedible. But yeah, Doc Ot is pretty good.

The only frozen pizza worth eating.

    • One of two. McCain Ultra Thin are pretty good as well.

I'm sure it tastes even better cooked

      • Cliché, i know… My Irish housemate let it defrost, then put it in the oven to cook. Not good. It oozed between the rails on the rack, burnt on thr bottom of the oven!

  • Tried their pizza a few years ago and was quite good but I recently tried their Spinach and Bolognese pizzas and didn't like it at all.

    • As others mentioned above, Fungi! It is the best, try it.
And then you can add your own toppings (e.g. prawns)
Even better with a bit of Tabasco sauce.

      • I would try it if I liked mushrooms lol, but thanks.

I quite like the Dr Oetker range and $3.75 to $4 is when I stock up, but ever since reducing the amount of salt I add to my cooking I've noticed how extremely salty some of the Oetker pizzas taste. Spinach is fine but Funghi is like licking a block of salt.

That is true… They are a bit salty

  • It is pretty good but is a bit niggardly in size @ the usual price. Well worth it on sale though.

I actually like Wollies' pizza even better. The Wollies' brand is made in ITALY!

Coles used to have a premium brand made in Italy called Emilio's or something that I guess was meant to compete with Wollies Italian brand. But, at least at my local Coles, it's gone and their house brand is that horrible 'when in Rome..' brand that someone mentioned tastes like cardboard.
