Extra savings implies a small amount every pay?
Index fund, that allows small investment added monthly from wage.

If offset account is an option, you imply u have a mortgage, if you do, pay that off first!

Yes. Offset account payment is a better option. Any earnings would be taxable. So no point paying loan interest and income tax at the same time. Unless investment return is more.

  • car parks in the CBD ; D
am just starting to read about it but, my 2 cents

    pro :
    - no/VERY low maintenance
    - affordable cash flow tool
    - may appreciate comparable to other types of properties (considering the increasing density of dwellings in the CBD)

    con :
    - hard to resell?

    • Can you elaborate more about this?

    • Why would it be hard to resell?

  • Just so you know we can't give you the best advice because it depends on your situation.
If you've got some extra cash like $5000 + and want to invest for the long term, would definitely recommend shares.
If you want to go shorter, you could try a term deposit keep in mind theres usually minimum amounts.
If you have a mortgage offset account, that's a good place to park the money.
For property, you would need a decent deposit and there seems to be some speculation regarding the property bubble at the moment which could affect investor sentiment.
