  • I could help if you were with HCF. Close but no cigar!

    • Magnate what does an HCF referral get us?

      • Nothing I think. If you want a good referral try AHM

What has your experience been like with HIF? Especially when it comes to claiming.

Never heard of these guys but my insurance will go up $20 a month with NIB at the moment so looking to change and these guys are quite cheap compared to NIB.

      • Hi danb. I hope you don't mind me responding in a 'HIF' capacity but I just wanted to offer more information about HIF's latest premium increase, which is the lowest in Australia this year at just 2.9% (compared to 6.4% for Bupa, 6.5% for Medibank and 8% for NIB). More information on that is available here if you're interested: http://www.hif.com.au/news/article/23122013-108/hif-is-best-…
If you would ever like more information about HIF, or you'd like to speak to someone in our team and get an obligation free quote, please don't hesitate to ask. You can contact me any time on [email protected]
You can also get a quote online 24/7 at www.hif.com.au - we're currently offering 6 weeks free cover to new members who join before April 1. :)
In terms of claiming, it couldn't be easier. We offer HICAPS (where you swipe your member card at the point of service), our 'SmartClaim' mobile app (no paperwork required), plus email, fax and postal claiming options. In terms of claimable rebates, our benefits are some of the best in the country and we also allow members to claim on their own choice of provider rather than locking members in to 'participating providers' like some funds do. More information on that is available here: http://www.hif.com.au/health-insurance/information/pick-your…

Hey man, good so far :)

Only claimed once so far on a clean and check + xrays at the dentist and on the Saver options (second lowest one) I was out of pocket about $30. Claiming was pretty easy, just swiped the card at the dentist and it was automatically done, I guess the same way most other places would do it.

Couldn't really tell you too much more though since that's about the only time I've attempted a claim ha

Hi all. I'm the Digital Manager for HIF and just wanted to clarify that if you join HIF and mention that an existing HIF member referred you, only they will receive a $70 gift card. The current joining offer for new members is six weeks free cover, which is a nice little saving as it's equivalent to a 12% discount in the first year of membership (the maximum discount that health funds are legally allowed to pass on to new members). The promo code for that offer is 6W. I hope that helps anyway, and if you ever have a question about HIF, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers :) Nikki

Hi Nikki, I'm looking at changing but I'm in Vic does that matter? Also do any of your covers cover swimming lessons?
      Thanks

      • Hi minniethemoocher, I am SO sorry for the delayed response, I have only just seen your query posted here. To answer your questions, HIF covers hospitals, medical specialists and Extras service providers across the country. We also don't lock members in to 'participating provider' schemes, instead paying back excellent rebates but allowing our members to choose their own providers. We don't cover swimming lessons though, sorry about that. Thanks, Nikki

  • Hi all just a quick question which health fund is cheapest and has great services.

I just wish the government didn't take so much probably more would sign up

Cheers and thanks for your time.
