3 wheel Elio Motor Vehicle runs for 1081km per 30-Liters Tank starting at $6800USD

Came across this interesting vehicle and is considered as a motorcycle in USA. Priced at $6800+. It may be an excellent alternative transportation for people who commute to places a lot. Very fuel efficient 84mpg. not sure if it is going to be available in Australia.

  • Looks like the Aptera concept that never got off the ground about 6 years ago. Looks promising.

Problem with it being classified as a motorbike is it will require a motorbike licence to drive. Will knock out 90% of the target market.

  • Yes… You are right but that's in US.. Not sure what will it be classified if it comes or even is manufactured in Australia.the plus side for being a motorbike is we pay less rego and possibly less insurance. ps. If you live in Melbourne, you won't even need to pay for parking!

  • +1
    • renault twizzy? same kind of thing?

  • i think it will be eclipsed by 'real' cars soon

that is the next gen of superminis like the successors to the Hyundai i20 will beat it everywhere and esp. once the chinese come in

I see a car like the Hyundai i10 (google it) made in china with a 2 or 3 cyl. turbo, maybe even electric only well under 1 ton and the usual 4 seats and upwards of 60/70mpg

we already see cars around $12k here, is it that hard to think that they may go to $10k with new tech?
