Dymocks Gift Cards

Hubby was given a Dymocks gift card almost a year ago, and has to date found nothing there that interests him, and it's coming close to expiry.

There's nothing specifically in the T&C about using a gift card to buy another, but does anyone have personal experience in doing so?

My only hesitation in just walking in and expecting to be able to do so is this:

"Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be exchanged."

'Exchanged' - does that mean cannot be exchanged for cash, or exchanged for another gift card?

  • No experience doing that, you could anonymously ring a store and ask! If you're worried about the expiry date I've found dymocks are pretty good about it. Was able to redeem a GC that was 6 months expired.

    • Thanks for your reply navyblues. They really SHOULD honour them too - after all, someone has paid money for most gift cards in circulation, so within reason, they really shouldn't have an expiry date at all.

  • If it is definitely going to expire maybe he can buy something suitable for selling rather that lose the cards value entirely?

This would be my pick at the moment:
