No idea where to take it
But a search on EBAY for a replacement LCD screen for your (model no) HP
would give you an idea on how much the LCD would be
    then there's the Labour.
    Good luck

  • Have you got accidental coverage on your insurance.

Our last laptop met its death when my son knocked it off the table.

    $100 for a computer upgrade.

  • Could you please provide me some extra details on the laptop model?

  • Thanks for the replies

Will go check out ebay for a new screen

I dont have coverage insurance unfortunately :( but good suggestion def will be getting some in the near future.

Here are the details for the computer HP PAVILION DV6 NOTEBOOK
    Product number: QC329PA#ABG

  • If I buy a new screen will that fix all the problems? It has a crack with dye in the shape of a flower and lines going all across the screen.

  • If you use it all the time on table, you can do what i did. See here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/137625

  • Some models are far easier and cheaper to replace than others. If you really don't know much about it, a DIY solution could end up being more costly than if you'd just taken it to a repairer, so do your research on the one you have.

I had a compaq that I cracked the screen on, cost me $300 to get it replaced. When someone else cracked it a fortnight later, I didn't bother getting it replaced again. My daughter now uses it with a monitor attached - a very easy solution if you don't need portability.

  • looks like a pretty recent laptop so worth fixing

i seen ads in the paper saying $129-$169 for common units, i think thats fair
