Mac Mavericks OS

Hi.

I have stuffed up my mac and need to re install but i cannot log onto my mac to download mavericks.
I was wondering if anyone owned a mac and would be wiling to help out.

All you need to do is download mavericks from the apple store and create a mavericks USB.

I am willing to supply a USB or you can purchase a $5 USB from officworks (8gb usb) and i will pay you back.

I am located in Melbourne and would like to get this fixed over the weekend. I can meet in the CBD to get the usb of you either on Saturday or Sunday

Bonus: if you are able to help me this weekend, I am wiling to pay $10 for your time and effort.

Thanks so much if you could help me out

  • i can help but i will be only in the Melbourne CBD tomorrow.
downloading it now and based on my experience, it will take a while to create the usb stick too.

    • Hi
I can meet you tomorrow in the city.
I will PM you my number. (can't see, to pm you)
Could you contact me on [email protected]

Base on the link I gave you normally it took me 20 mins, to do it via the terminal.

      Thanks for your help

  • I am sure the apple store can help you with this. Just book a 'genius' appointment. They wiped and completely reinstalled mac os for two of my laptops.

  • +1

Turn off the computer, hold down the option key and while holding it power the computer on (still holding the option key).

Keep holding the option key until you get a grey screen with a mouse cursor. Then two drives should appear, the first one (usually called "Macintosh HD" is your hard drive, then there should be a recovery partition called "Mavericks Installer" or something to that effect. You should be able to double click on the installer drive and go through the setup.

Mavericks these days in its stock configuration creates an emergency boot drive so that you can start the computer up, it'll then download the installer from Apple and let you continue.

Failing that, the easiest option is to make a 'genius' appointment at an Apple store for Mac troubleshooting. Be aware though that they are very time limited (something like 10-15 min per appointment) so the amount of help you will receive will depend on how busy they are, but in most cases they try to help out as much as they can while their managers keep reminding them how long their appointment sessions have gone on for ;)

  • Turn on the computer.
    Hold Command-R

You can install Mac OS X from the net.
