i never buy a printer with 3 colours in 1 cartridge. Always do an ebay check. I get cartridges for about $1.80 each for my Canon MP610 (on ebay)$1.80 x 5 kinds=$9 delivered. They are about $43 for a set for this printer. Not a cheap printer when you factor in the consumables.

  Cartridges for Canon MX526 (like most Canon Printers) are refillable.
