Nokia's First Android phone X Dual Sim

OK, so Nokia finally moving to the Android platform. Wonder why they are starting out very minimalistic with a 3mp camera, but anyways, here's the intro. How do you guys see them performing? are they a bit late onto the Android bandwagon or will they become a 'force to be reckoned with'??

Nokia X Dual SIM is the first smartphone of the 2014-introduced X family smartphones. It comes with top end hardware specs at a budget price and is intended for new smartphone users. about $170 for a black model and $10 more for other colours. I reckon it's quite a bargain if you ask me…

The Nokia X series isn't intended to be flagship device — and it will never be, because that will make it compete in the same space as the Lumia series and dilute the Windows Phone OS share.

They've deliberately kept it low end (4GB internal memory, 512MB of RAM, no gorilla glass) so that its in line with their cheaper Lumia 520 and 620 series. If the specs were better people would probably buy the X instead of the Lumia, and Microsoft wouldn't want that happening.

  • This phone reminds me for HTC Desire 300 - well built, good customisation, but under-spec for the price. Both phones try to rely on the brand. In fact, both phones have pretty much the same CPU, same amount of RAM and ROM.

Problem is that you also have Huawei Y300 with similar spec for $79 form Telstra (and it is cheap to unlock - check eBay). It depends on whether you want to fork out another $90 for a better quality screen and overall build on a low end phone.

Moto G 8GB dual SIM was $175.60 a few weeks ago.

Both the Nokia and HTC Desire 300 are great low end phones. However, they are not priced competitive enough.
