  • This would be great if JB Hi-Fi actually sends you new discs.
    But that wasn't my experience.

I'd be interested in comments about what people actually receive.

    • +1

My experience has been the same. I've made 3 orders with them in the past and each time I received second hand stock. Scratches on disc, tears in manual, missing manuals as well as resealed games. Really dodgy.

      • They are shocking. Thanks for letting me know.

    • I've only ordered PC games from them and they've always arrived sealed in plastic. I doubt they'd try sending a second hand PC game, DRM would make it quite obvious it's used.

  • Wiki says this about GFWL…

"In August 2013, a since-deleted support article for Age of Empires Online announced that the Games for Windows – Live service would be discontinued on July 1, 2014. This has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft but many media sources believe it is true."

    Has it been confirmed?

    • Many GFWL games have already been migrated to Steamworks so I think this is still going ahead.

I have Batman: Arkham City on GFWL and I was provided with a free Steam key for the GOTY edition which has been patched to use Steamworks instead.

  • I don't see why everyone is so upset about the closing of GFWL other than losing the multiplayer element. You can create an offline profile and play single player..

    • Not always the case. Bulletstorm requires you to log in to GFWL to play the single player. If you dont log in, you don't even get to the Menu screen

    • Actually some games require you to activate online in order to save your game. Without GFWL you'd be starting a new game every time.
