Don't Buy a PS4 from DickSmith Online

Ordered my ps4 on 31/03 with the website stating delivery/fulfillment on 4/04 which is fine. I go to check the PS4 listing on 2/04/14 and notice the date went to 16/04 and thought wow i hope mine hasn't been pushed that far away. Check the website on 4/04 and see my item is still awaiting fulfillment and the playstation 4 listing has been removed completely. I called them on 4/04 and the lady on the phone advises me that they have no ETA date for ps4 stock and that they currently do not have any. She advises me I can get a refund which will take 7 business days.

skip to yesterday and the item was back on dicksmiths website with 'In stock - ships in 2-5 days' with a preorder button. today it now has the in stock message with 'buy now'

Called them today and asked if my item would be shipped on monday because they should now have stock and have advised me that they still have no stock and that they have had problems with the web listing and are trying to get it fixed.

so don't buy a ps4 from dicksmith because they will charge your card and have no idea when they're getting stock despite saying they have stock on the website.

    Mine came within the week when I bought it back on the 9/3/14. But my next order of 2 controls and Infamous - Second Son came with only 1 control, poor customer service has hardly replied their freshdesk service is a joke.

    DSE customer service is really useless, every time I have to call them at least 4-5 times to fix a problem, my refund for my cancelled ps4 order come after 1 months after I called them 6 times and emailed twice, no tax invoice for my last 4 online orders.

    Yeah same no invoice with the package. Well if they don't answer soon I'll be escalating paypal dispute. Then if they don't answer that paypal might possibly refund the whole order (no idea never made a dispute not on ebay), hopefully that gives them a kick up the ass to send my missing goods.

    I ordered a PS4 in the 2nd week of March through DSE website and had absolutely no issues with getting my order. The website claimed they were going to ship the console out late March but got it sooner than I expected.

    I checked their site yesterday and the part of the site for PS4 has always said it was a 'pre-order' and never IN STOCK as in can deliver right away…

      According to this it's supposedly in stock atm with a "BUY NOW".

      I'm in the same position as OP. Kinda pot committed now that I have FIFA 14 and a controller purchased as well as NFS incoming with no console to play on. Tempted to cancel and just pay the difference at JB cause this is ridiculous. Wonder what story they'd give if I called up pretending I want to purchase one off the site today. I bet stock would magically be there ready and waiting at full price.

        So I just replied to them with a screenshot of the instock message and have just received an invoice stating my order will be sent today.

          Just got my invoice too, seems they now believe their own site.

          Yet to see a tracking number though. Given past experiences with the combination of DSE and Startrack though I won't believe it until I have the item in my hands :D

          Mine says ships via Australian air express. Did you get startrack?

          No shipping notice as yet.

          Previous DSE items to my household have all been via star track most notably 2x TVs which were "lost" on 2 separate occasions. Controller I ordered at the same time also came via StarTrack. Mate's PS4 also from DSE was Star Track… must be a Syd thing.

          Just noticed my invoice said Australian Air Express as well but that's what it also said on the invoice for the extra controller I ordered and received so I'm expecting StarTrack.

          Has your my order page been updated? I don't really trust getting an invoice. Hopefully startrack deliver tomorrow for us both!

          Still awaiting fulfilment. Got the invoice for NFS on Saturday I've not received a shipping notice for this either.

          Re Startrack and AAE - that explains a lot lol.

          Just got an SMS with an unfamiliar tracking # from DSE. I think it's the PS4!
          Odd that no email was sent but I'm not complaining.

          Just as I hit post I get an email from DSE. Happy days.

    Email I just received. Never emailed them. Only ever called. Also had the same idea peetah.

    I ordered a PS4 last week with the last 10% off deal they had going. Just sent them an email seeing what's happening with mine since they supposedly have stock now (or so the site says).

    Hopefully mine gets shipped soon too.

    I ordered mine during the $456 price and got the PS4 within a week, absolutely no issues.

    Surprise, surprise, my PS4 arrived!

    Don't know whether it was the email I sent to them yesterday (no reply) but I'm glad I got it. No status update on the site and no email stating it was shipped either!

    Bit annoyed that they CBF putting it in a box. >:-( Thankfully it's all in one piece and very surprised it didn't get flogged.

    Yeah mine came by itself. Not happy. It's ripped and abused but at least it's here. Now I hope it turns on.

    My PS4 arrived just like that with no packaging too and I was worried someone would nick off with it! The box was a little bit damaged but no real issues. The controller on the other hand was in shocking condition. Box was still taped but very mangled. No reply to my emails.

    Does anyone think that buying the PS4 from newegg, for $484 AUD is a good buy, with their world eggsaver standard included, or hold out for Australian retail deals
