Xbox One Problem

My download speed is around 40 Mbps and around 1.80 Mbps upload. And I get a latency of over 200 ms. My Xbox is wired but wireless. Let me explain, my gateway is downstairs I hook up a device to it and I put this (http://support.netgear.com/product/XAV1004) where my xbox is connect via Ethernet cable. The wifi strength is 100% cause I have a wifi range extender right next to the Xbox. So the main problem of is 200 latency is I keep disconnecting from online matches.
Thanks for reading.

  • cool story bro.

p.s. if you're using a powerline adaptor surely the wifi extender is redundant as your xbox gets it's connection from the powerline not the wifi.

    • The device connected to the gateway connects via wifi to the power line adapter

Plug your Xbox into the router directly via an Ethernet cable and see if you have the same issue. If this solves the problem the issue is within your home network setup.

Troubleshooting 101… eliminate the variables until you find the cause.

      • Do this, WIFI range extenders usually increase ping horrendously from my understanding - not much use for gaming is what I found when I did some research on them. I think the powerline stuff can face similar problems, but not as sure.
