    buyer beware:

I have recently ordered Turbulences by Revillon from FragranceX.com to Australia. Although the company's slogan is 'no knockoffs, no imitations', this is exactly what I have received – cheaply smelling piss in suspicious packaging. I have been using Turbulences all my life, and not only I know perfectly well the smell of the real perfume, but I have also kept one of the empty bottles. I therefore can testify not only from memory, but also from direct comparison of the smells that I have received a fake product. My disappointment does not stop here.

As I tried to return the goods, the Australian Post and other air couriers refused to provide me with their services, saying that it was illegal for them to ship perfume as it is considered dangerous cargo. I was advised then to try sea shipping, and I was told by freight forwarders I contacted that I would need to hire a cubic meter to ship anything by see, which costs hundreds of dollars. When I looked again at their return policy, they require products to be unopened and seals intact, which practically allows then selling horse urine as perfume and you cannot return it, because you can only know it is imitation after you have opened the bottle. Furthermore, even if returned I can only recover a fraction of what it cost me to have it delivered here (which is more than the price of the “perfume") and back. Now I am stuck with this fake, I do not have the perfume I have been looking forward to having so much, and having wasted so much time in trying to find a way to return it. I do not think I will ever buy anything online.

      good post!

    • Edit - already posted by quantocks (different link).

    • well mate you can always use ur credit card purchase protection, or report the product as fake through paypal and this way you can get your money back, without even having to return the product.

  • Wow very good post quantocks! reading those stories, they seem so dodge.

Note: Not a bash at bashar (harhar) - I wouldnt think a site that is pretty well setup would be so bad

  • Good lord why would you bother when there are cheaper more reliable options available

      such as?

well the davidoff cool water @ perfumeconnection.com.au is 58$ thats almost double the price

  • +3

Double the price, half the urine!

  • Just go to Priceline or Chemist warehouse if you want cheap perfume. No need to order it online from US (if my brain serves me right, i don't believe you get purchase protection rights on foreign purchases)

      1. Yes but if the same item is 50$ there and 32$ online. I was willing to take the risk.
      2. Paypal protects you against all purchases, I even placed a claim once for 6$ on dealextreme, as their support couldnt understand that the item shipped was the wrong one and was broken as well.
      3. with paypal for claims its for your good if the support team dont answer emails (as per teh claims on the link above). cause then Paypal pays you back directly without further questions.
      4. I cant comment on purhcase protection using credit cards as I dont have the time to google that.

anyways my plan is simple, if my perfume doesnt arrive within the the business days on fragranceX, am going to initiate a paypal claim against fragranceX. and if the perfume is not original am gonna do the same.
However hopefully everything is going to be fine and I wont have to go through that path.

and yes I have a davidoff cool water that I can compare it to what they are gonna send me.

and btw if you google any online seller with complaints you will find a website full of complaints about them. even try Big stores like Harvey Norman, JB HIFI, Dick Smith, Bing Lee. but people still buy from them.

all am saying instead of negative comments, share in ozbargain a better website with free shipping and cheap prices.

Yeah but there is a big difference on bad service and providing bad goods. And if you check the whirlpool forums, a lot of paypal disputes just go unanswered. With perfumes (where fake versions run rampant),you might as well get it over her for like 10bucks more (i think those extra 10/20dollars are worth the insurance of not smelling like urine to your gf/prospective gf)

  • I've purchased 8 perfumes from FragranceX in 4 transactions. The first 2 perfumes I was able to compare with authentic testers that I had. And the other 6 perfumes smell authentic also (compared to what I've tested in shops), and were long lasting on my skin.

I haven't had any problems with the products.

    Their customer support however… -_-
I emailed them about getting some loyalty points that I missed out on, but they never replied.

  • I got my order today from them. took less than 2 weeks to be delievred.
I confirm that teh coolwater tester I ordered is an original one.
