When porting to Virgin, how long does it take for your existing number to transfer to Virgin (from Live Connected)? Because 5 days ago I went to a Virgin store to port my number, and now I have noticed that my existing number is disconnected (since midday today),so I put in the new Virgin Sim in my phone, but its the number on the Virgin sim pack.
They gave me a starter sim pack (which has a phone number), when I asked the Virgin staff he said its a 'temporary number'. When I ported from Optus Prepaid to LC, as soon as the Optus SIM disconnected, the LC sim worked straight away with my existing number.
I had to log into my Virgin account using the number on the sim pack, rather than my actual number.
so I guess Im just a bit confused and worried that my number will be forever gone!
Worked fine for me a couple of weeks ago. Maybe try it again in a few minutes and reset the phone with the Virgin sim in it?
i lost reception for 4 hours before my existing number ported over to virgin.
All good now :) Got a text saying its (finally) ported to Virgin.

Sorry- what do you mean…they have given you a new number rather than porting your old number?
