    Check the seller ratings. This guy has no feedback. You're the first person to buy from him.

    The price does seem too good to be true, other sellers are selling this phone for prices north of $150 USD + delivery. I'd say steer clear — you may not get the item as described (they may ship you a completely different phone from what is shown on the product page — one that is much lower end).

    If this is the first time you're buying a phone from China, I suggest sticking with eBay where you have some buyer protection. Or go with Deal Extreme's AU site.

    DX AU has an Australian warehouse which makes it easier to ship items back to them in case you receive a faulty unit.
    Your goods however will still come from Hong Kong — the Direct AU service simply implies you will get your item within 5-7 working days.

      The specifications of this phone would easily beat any $250 pre-paid mobile phone found in Australia. A brand name mobile phone with a 1920x1080 screen should cost you at least $400.

      Scrimshaw is right about the price. The going rate for a similar phone (MTK6582, 1920x1080 screen, 2GB RAM) is about double this sellers price.

      I've never bought from AliExpress before so I Googled "AliExpress scam". Noticed that there are heaps of blogs and testimonials saying AliExpress has a few scammers. My understanding is that the "Buyer Protection" is an escrow service managed by AliExpress. I read cases where the buyer did not receive the product yet AliExpress never returned the funds.

      If you haven't had previous dealings with this seller before or made use of the AliExpress Buyer Protection then stick with Scrimshaw's recommendations.
