Unless you need the layers function in Photoshop you'd be better off buying the last edition of Lightroom. The software has matured enough such that it has all the essential features required for very good post-processing. I reckon Adobe also sees it that way and has changed its business model from retail to subscription based.
This is a great price for photoshop itself though.
I agree that Lightroom is good (though I use Capture) but there's never a sub for a photoshop, even without layers.
Only thing about this is this clause:
"Renewal After the first 12 months, we will automatically renew your contract based on the current price of the offering."
Other than that this is pretty cool.
Subscription is the way of the future (not that I like it) but everyone seems to want a steady revenue stream nowadays just like all the IAP stuff in apps etc.
A couple of people have told me that if you cancel your subscription at the end of the twelve months you still get to keep the software, but without updates. Can anyone here confirm that? I wasn't able to find that mentioned anywhere on the page.
