  • Has anyone actually tried those Chinese tyres like Goodride or Rotalla ? I spoke to a few guys that work in the industry and they say they are OK ??

I mean they are more than half the cost, everyone out there is selling them.
the rubber looks OK, the design looks OK,
it smells good it feels good.

My only concerns are safety, are they ok in the wet and how long do they really last.
If they only last half as long as Goodyear then its cheaper to buy Goodyear right people ?
Fitting n balancing tyres in western Sydney
cost $20 eaxh for mags so if your gunna have to replace the tyres twice then that's another added cost of $80 for the same time, this is based on my idea its about half the mileage as someone told me.

I haven't used any myself but 2 of my brothers keep buying them, some of the tyre brands I can remember them using are Blue Streak, Diamondback, Sim-something, Yellow-something.

They go through tyres faster than underwear, and you would think by how easily they slip/spin they would be a hard compound and last a long time bit they don't. So they don't have very good grip and they don't last very long.

Not saying they are all like that but its probably more often than not.

They should really buy something better but they both have large/wide tyres that are expensive to get tyres for in a reputable brand and often just fit the cheapest they can find.

      • even with good quality tyres, they still require proper maintenance and adequate driving skills ;)

Many of these tyres are noisy. Depends what you want out of a Tyre. I'd rather have grip.

yes, several different brands of the cheap crap. you really do only get what you pay for… often there dry grip is pretty poor but there wet grip is pretty much non existent. it often dosnt cost a lot more to get a good known brand which will not only be MUCH safer but also last a lot longer. cheaper stuff also tend to split sidewalls and delaminate and "lovely" things like that.

but when i was getting them for free and using anything up to 10 tyres a day… i just took what i could get :)

  • Rep, I'm after 215/55/17 X 4 fitted & balanced.

What can you do me for in a Bridgestone, Goodyear or similar ?

    Cheers!

      OP isn't a REP.

why the sales pitch? Are you a rep?

Who cares if they're a rep - all automotive places are crazy the week b4 Easter.

If you NEED new tyres, get them NOW not Thursday night as you head off towing a caravan, screaming kids, screaming wife & barking dog.

+1 for Tyrepower (Main North Rd Prospect SA) - bought some Toyos there the other week. 235/45/17 @ 145ea fitted. Pros @ customer service.

No, I'm not a rep. I know from previous experiences how hard it is to book your car in at certain times of the year for new tyres. If you leave it until the last few days like everyone else then everywhere is already booked out.

      • Wow, I didn't know about the pre-Easter rush for tyres. I thought everyone got new tyres when:

        a) the tread was low, irrelevant of the time of year; or
        b) the rego inspectors said they would fail your car if you didn't

        Good tip.

        • i also don't get the pre-easter zerg rush at the supermarkets, clearing out the aisles. they're only closed on good friday!
