  • This is mainly for smartphones/tablets that support USB OTG.
One side is normal USB and the other side is micro USB.

    Normal price to me

Cheaper buying 32GB one from Sydney from Topbuy.
MSY NSW is out of stock but = 24+11=35.
    MSY VIC + shipping = 24+12=36.
    Topbuy 26 + 5 = 31 !!

PS: don't think about leaving this in your phone all the time. 1. You could knock it/bend the microUSB pin in the port in the phone - rendering it impossible to charge your phone. 2. It drains battery even when not in use as it's usb/it's drawing power when mounted/even not in use.

PPS: if you are looking to expand storage and NOT the USB convenience, you are better off getting http://www.meenova.com/st/p/m3r.html uses microSD card, from my understanding SD card standard draws no power when mounted but not in use. (feel free to correct me!)

    • Neg because it's not available at YOUR local store?

The price is great, the product concept is great; your neg is invalid.

Lemme clarify, even if I ordered from NSW, it was like $10-$11 for shipping.

        • Shipping from MSYNSW to Hornsby was quoted @ $10.91.

    • With the PPS: that comes with USB adapter, so you do get USB convenience.

      • Top buy is 28 + 5 shopping.

If only MSY didnt cheat us by allowing people to buy them by the dozen, there would be some left.

They only hurt themselves - the whole point of a bargain/'loss-leader' is to get people into store.

Next time I will just IGNORE.

    Cool!
    Didn't know these existed!
Does anyone know if you can charge through this?
I'd love to have one on my keychain so I
    1) always have a USB drive on me
    2) can charge my phone from "any" USB port.

    • I strongly doubt you can charge through it. It won't be designed for that kind of power throughput, even if the circuitry did allow it. Plus it would be incredibly awkward to use as a charge "cord" unless your phone port and charge port could line up perfectly.

The idea is simply to allow file swap between phone/tablet and PC, in the same way that conventional flash drives are used between 2 PCs.

      • Sure, it's not going to be usable in every situation, (USB port is going to have to have decent power output for starters) but there's usually going to be books etc to stack up to make a platform to level out the USB port with the phone.
It'd be a cool extra feature if the power pins did do a pass through.
Having thought about it, it would probably crash the computer and/or phone though with both devices trying to mount the one drive. You'd need to engineer the swinging cap to disconnect the data pins at the halfway point or something to make this "feature" work.

  • Or this kind of device with a microSD slot.

    • That's significantly bigger though..
This device is as compact as it can get.

  • Grabbed 2, get a steady 8+mb/sec write. Good enough to plug into the TV for timeshifting and recording = awesome!

  • Sold out in all four sydney stores.
probably sold them in multiples, like so many idiot retailers.

  • Sold out online too.
The whole point of a bargain is to BRING PEOPLE INTO STORE (or online).
Who is the moron at msy that thinks it's smart to let people buy more than one.
    F&*) you MSY!
I will think twice before bothering next time.

Ebay has them for $US 25.45 (free postage) - that's the best i could find after a considerable search.
I went for the Taiwan seller because HK can be very slow.

Got mine at their North Melbourne store (VIC).
There were quite a few on the shelf when I was there this afternoon.
