Priority Pass Walkthru from those that have used it?

Hi there,

I have my Free Priority pass(two swipes per year) from Citi Signature card sign up.
All registered and waiting to be used.

From those that have actually used the card to access lounges can I have some detailed accounts of planning tips, useful tips and results. Mostly only international access. Told to avoid Hawaii lounge.

I was thinking to use at the following airports Melb before flight and LAX on way home.
Other airports I will have time is Denver, Miami and Kona, Maui and Honolulu.

  • I was at the Hawaii lounge last week. That was my first time using the PP. Not too bad. You have wi-fi, nice views, comfortable seats, unlimited cheese, crackers, mixed snacks, yoghurt, fruit, OJ,water. Basic drinks and alcohol is free but you should tip.

The Melbourne lounge is only United and is only open at limited times during the day to coincide with their flights.

The LAX United lounge is about the same setup as the HI lounge (they are all pretty average). I'd try another lounge if you can.

  • Walkthru:
Upon entering the lounge the attendant takes an imprint of you PP card. Not once have anyone asked to see or process transactions from the actual linked credit card. The fees for me always took ages to show on the statement, always longer than 1 month (i'm not with citi so all my visits are paid for).

Hope it helps, enjoy the lounges.

  • "I have my Free Priority pass(two swipes per year) from Citi Signature card sign up"…Yes me too (+100s of fellow Ozbs). It's a great free perk. Personally, I'd use it at the airport at which you have the longest stop-over

Used one at KL last month, they just swip the PP card. Didn't use the 2nd free entrance as I had forgot to bring my Citi Cr card which I think you need to also swipe it, to get the 2nd free entry; can anyone confirm?

Next trip is Bali, hopefully there is a pleasent lounge there as I have an 23:30 flight.
