No response with an online order for 4 months. What can I do?

I ordered some gift cards from karekard.com.au on Dec, 2013 but haven't received any after four months. Have been chasing with them since Feb for more than ten times but the customer service only replied to me twice, giving no useful information. Then since one month ago they've never responded to me despite that I sent them five emails. It seems I was ripped off. You guys have any advice on this? Shall I report to police?

    How did you pay for the items ?

    Assuming you used a credit card and not direct deposit maybe you could call the bank to make a claim.

    Not a police matter.
    You could try slaying them on Facebook (obviously being careful to stick to the facts).
    You could also try lodging a complaint with the relevant fair trading/consumer affairs body.

  • Write them another nice letter this time mention the word "lawyer" somewhere.. see if that helps.. You'll be amazed what people do when they see that word

    • worked retail for years, we used to laugh in the face of anyone who was stupid enough to try that "ill get my lawyer/fair trading onto you" caus you know if thats all they had left was to make poorly thought out threats then they were out of options.

      • Obviously you werent brought up in a public education system that told you that children have rights to sue…

        Fair trading have acted effectively and promptly for me twice. They would be my first option.

      • Each of four times I've contacted Fair Trading in my city, the managers of the retailers in question came back to me with a wet patch on their pants and an offer of a full refund.

  • I would like to warn ozbargainers on buying from Kare Card. It's been almost 2 months and I am yet to receive 1700 worth of gift cards. Their customer service is hopeless. It takes a long time for them to reply or even no reply at all. The discounts are not worth it at the end considering the time and stress.

  • If you pay by Credit Card and you haven't received the item and it looks like you're not going to, just call your bank and say I ordered something, they haven't sent it and they're being silent. Banks reverse the charge and then they have to complain to the bank, which they'll need proof of having sent the item well before the charge back, else they'll get told to sodd off.

    Banks can be good.
