How do you spot an OzBargainer?

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in how everyone spots a fellow Ozbargainer because I'm finding it harder and harder to spot one (unless it's an Ozbargain event).

You could used to walk into Dominos and whoever was picking up their pizza and paying with an ING 5% Paywave card and wearing an Ecko/Everlast hoodie, it was much easier to tell. So how do you tell these days? Perhaps a lot of the deals are different to clothing etc. that used to be popular back one or two years? Or maybe Ozbargain has become so popular that everything like using ING cards and Dominos coupons is so normal and mainstream now. I know I've never (or never will) see someone try that McFlurry trick at Maccas.

Thoughts?

Didn't actually see the OzBargainer in person, but saw a Voss Water sitting on the "Click & Collect" shelf at Dan Murphy's. Surely ordered by an OzBargainer! :)

Should've left a little note stuck to it "hello, OzBargainer…" (hopefully it comes across more creepy than friendly)

      • and break the seal of the bottle.

  • after they have asked and received the "best price" from a salesperson they then jump on their mobile to look for a cheaper price online…and then attempt a price match if cheaper price is found.

  • At work, the customer who asks to split the bill into $99 lots for the ING card. Or the customer that tries to haggle a raincheck quantity in the double digits.

Saw that on the Saturday the voucher deal came on, person before me showed their mobile phone with voucher, then I was next with my printed voucher. I didn't even smile at them, I was wondering if the store person would click about all the vouchers being used. But they looked normal ;)

They will be the people at lunchtime queuing up at the Post Office with 5 or 6 'missed delivery' cards for all of the online impulse-buy bargains. The one place you probably wont see any Ozbargainers…a Westfield Shopping Centre anywhere!

  • That big shemozzle of a games clearance sale at DSE a couple of years ago flushed out a lot of Ozbargainers, like moths to the flame queuing up outside North Sydney DSE.
