  • Does this take the coles pods?

    • coles pods

I'm not sure what you mean, but Coles do sell Dolce Gusto pods

      • coles have their own brand of pods like aldi and woolworths, I guess they have their own separate machine also. Coles branded pods are supposed to be the best out of the cheap pods.

        • +1

They are for the superior Nespresso machines.

    • No. They use Nespresso.

One thing this Dolce Gusto machine can do over a Nespresso is it can froth its own milk, and it's much faster and doesn't require any cleaning.

    • This Machine takes wider pods than most, so probably not - unless the Coles pods are wide too…

    Cheap but nasty

    • Worse than Blend43?

        Worse than international roast!!!

meh.. most people fill their cup full of milk anyway and I'd challenge them to tell the difference. But hey, everyone these days is a coffee buff, right?

        • +2

You obviously haven't had good coffee then.
If your palate can't tell the difference between instant coffee and regular coffee than I am not sure you are really in a position to have such an opinion.
The two types of coffee have completely different processes to the point they are ready to drink!

Also consider this one from Target for $69 after cashback http://www.target.com.au/p/delonghi-dolce-gusto-genio-2-edg4…

  • Target have them outright for $69 at the moment and that's no cash back deal or anything else.
That's the 1 litre model btw and I saw them at the Highpoint Target store.

    • Yeah I checked Target out and they had the machine at $144, but they did also have a machine on clearance that uses Nespresso pods for $35.

  • I bought one of these before xmas from Coles - not the Mini Me but the basic model, but the fact it was so small meant its great for keeping in the caravan so we can still have the luxury of a decent coffee on holiday :-)
And since its only used a few times a year, who cares if the pods are a little pricey….

I have an Aldi machine at home for everyday use.

  • If its the same as mine, it makes iced coffee/tea too by pumping out cold water through the special pods instead of hot.

The Peach Ice Tea is terrible. It's too sweet, yet at the same time the sweetness tastes like nutrasweet instead of real sugar. Just bad.

Ah well - If we all liked the same stuff life would have no variety LOL
