I'm in the market for a new car, and was wondering if anyone has ever stumbled upon a site or resource where people post the best "deal" they've gotten from a car dealership. This would make it incredibly easy to bargain with - by posting proof of purchase of the lowest price others have gotten for the same car.
If no such thing exists, do you think there would be much interest in setting one up?

I'm more referring to new cars from a dealership. I really like the idea of a site where users can post their drive away price (maybe with proof of purchase photo) of a new vechicle.
This would make it incredibly easy to haggle with dealers. Simple search the model and features you want and see the lowest price obtained from a dealer nationally. At the very least, it's a great starting point for negotiations.
that might work in the US but i dont think australians give a shit after the sale
as i said, go to carsales, do what i said
call a few dealers with the lowest driveway, go into the yard and negotiate
its not hard, if you're serious and ready to go you shouldnt have problem getting a discount within reason
i dont expect a huge discount on a Toyota 86 or a $12,000 Hyundai i20
i've even printed out the driveaway price of a car that was interstate and said, "can you match this price?"
if they do, great
if they come close, go to the next dealer and see if you can get closer, or settle but its pretty easy to get a discount within reason of a particular model
