[Joke] 1959 Penfolds Grange Hermitage $4850 at Dan Murphys

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Sure the price seems to have appreciated substantially, but think of how collectable this wine is going to be. Its really the investment of the century. A few years past its prime, so if you do intend to cellar this wine, make sure you don't forget about it, because apparently that happens quite a lot.

    Zzzzzzz…..

I suppose you'd need a sense of humour to appreciate it.

I suppose your amused by repetitive humour. In the last 3 days every radio and TV station have absolutely worn out the novelty of this..

The OP should have posted this few days earlier..

That's ok, at least your having a good time appreciating it.

        Happy Easter.

Maybe we should have a "politics" category

      • +5

A forum section for old and boring political jokes would be more suitable.

        • Well, I mean this is still a bargain to put someone really big down, for the cost of $5k?

The weather's too nice on this long weekend to be a grump! Turn those frowns upside down!

  • $4,850.00 per bottle for a 4-Star wine?

    Something is wrong

    Ozbargained?

not "out of stock", more like "Sold Out"

I've tasted Grange and it's most certainly overrated.

Not worth the extra over a good cask red (eg. Morris Dry)

    • +4

Did you just compare Grange to goon?

      • THIS IS OZBARGAIN!!! *kicks persian down pointless well that is seemingly never ending.

  • I don't get it…

  • Actually the OP does have a valid point. It probably is a great investment. The 1959 has certainly now got some real historical infamy and would be collectable. Apparently it is scarce ( it was never a great Vintage) which will only drive up the price.
