$30 off Your Unwired Modem Purchase

Mod - topic created from $30 off Your Unwired Modem Purchase originally posted by uabud:

I have two promotion codes. If you use one of the below codes, you will get $30 off your unwired modem purchase. FGAF125-9UCV-95RP, FGAF125-AVGJ-HU3P. I don't think there is an expiry date. However, Unwired is offering a rebate reducing their modem cost to $49 and there is an expiry date of 30 June 2009. Using the code I gave you will reduce the modem by a further $30.

There is no need to use a phone line for Unwired. Their plans are very reasonable (see below). In addition, you can actually set up wireless with a router to share the plan between computers. If you exceed your download limit, there is no extra charge. Once you have used up your allowance in either the Peak or Off-Peak periods, your speed will be reduced to the throttled speed (64/64 kbps) until your next billing period. You may check your usage in the 'My Account' section of the website. Also, you can buy extra blocks of usage.

  • $19.95 3GB (1GB in Peak / 2GB in Off-Peak)
  • $29.95 9GB (3GB in Peak / 6GB in Off-Peak)
  • $39.95 9GB (3GB in Peak / 6GB in Off-Peak)
  • $74.95 24GB (8GB in Peak / 16GB in Off-Peak)
  • $99.95 45GB (15GB in Peak / 30GB in Off-Peak)

This is my first post. I hope that you like it.

Yes, I was given 3 codes. A friend has used one. So only 2 codes were left.
First in best dressed. I think I shall get more next month though. Did you want to buy an Unwired modem? Have you tried the code?

    • $30 off Your Unwired Modem Purchase:
The first 2 codes I offered were already taken up. Members can see the benefits of joining unwired. Apart from the reasonable rates, the biggest benefit is that there is no fixed contract. I remember signing up to a wireless plan of 1GB for $49 a month two years ago. The contract was for 24 months. The price had dropped significantly since then. It dropped to $29 in a couple of months and then in a few more months it dropped to $15. I was given extra download limits to compensate for the higher cost I contracted for. Extra download limit is only good if I needed it. With unwired, I am now able to change the plan to suit me as my need changes or when the cost changes. I have found 3 more codes if you want to take advantage of the $30 credit and the low unwired modem cost of $49:
      FGAF125-X7XZ-JDW4
      FGAF125-QYNY-SRTE
      FGAF125-98A9-JJNT

  • Some more codes:

    FGAF125-TABR-BJG4
    FGAF125-JFYP-YRRT
    FGAF125-M7H4-25JR

I highly recommend Unwired too, great value and no ridiculous contracts. Enjoy.

  • HueyData,
Now that I know how to generate more promotion codes, I can update the used codes with new ones whenever necessary. Can the post be moved back to the New Deals? No one is going to get benefit out of the codes as very few people are reading the forum. When the post was in the New Deals, the codes were taken up quickly. Since moving to the forum, no one has taken up any codes.
    Thanks

    • uabud, the situation for new deals is not so different to the forums. There is little point in updating past deals that probably receive even less views than forum topics.

However, if you can generate more promotion codes, then I think it would be acceptable to submit them in batches as deals. I would suggest 10 codes as a minimum, and preferably 15+, per deal submission.

  • Unwired has very fragmented coverage in Sydney.

  • +1

I'll second that! A friend has the unwired modem and it's painfully slow even before he hits his download limit.

I have a vodafone contract $39 for 5GB and it has excellent coverage in Sydney (it also comes in the shape of a USB key rather than a big bulky grey box!)

The contract is not ideal but I've found you can now buy the modem out-right for under $200 (not sure of the exact price) and then buy pre-paid credit.

doing this you get the benefit of great coverage and a tiny modem but also you don't face 64/64kbps or massive fees for exceding your download limit.

It's a little more upfront but its a far better service than unwired provides - only pay for what you use, better coverage, modem fits on your keyring etc. etc.

  • I have unwired and it's ok, remember you have to divide the upload/download speed by 6 to get the actual speed.

Benefits - No phone line rental, no "fines"/charges for exceeding dl limit.

Negs - can be slow, you need to get the righ position in your house.

Summary: My parents like it, however, if you're a gamer/torrenter/etc, this is not for you.

EDIT: off peak = 12 midnight to 4pm. Uploads + downloads count.
