Whats a good price for a used LCD TV?

So I wanna get a Used Lcd Tv but am not sure what would be a good price to look around for.
Here are some basic specs I'm looking for so you can tell what the tv should be priced around.

Full 1080P
at least one HDMI (more would be nice)
1 component connection
1 composite Connection
Audio out red/white
doesn't matter how old (is there a good age I should look for for best price quality range?
sizes being 24inch, 30, 40.
Any decent well known brand. Samsung,Sony, panasonic,Toshiba,LG. (hows dicksmith brand or other home brands?)

For whatever reason my ps3 died and won't work on my nice dell monitor anymore So I got it rmad for another and so i want to get a used lcd tv for it. weird case where any other HDMI device will work on the monitor but won't work on the dell. Ps3 will work on the only other HDMI screen I have in the house but it's dying and don't trust it.
Also really weird is the Broken fat ps3 I have works on the dell while the new (rma) slim won't.

Anyway any ideas I pricing I should expect for those ranges or tips?
also should I look to ebay/gumtree/buillten boards? I feel like ebay might be safer for not getting something thats obviously dying or maybe I should try the OZB classifieds?

A BenQ 27 inch monitor goes for $249. I've been using BenQ monitors for years and they have an excellent track record.

and a Soniq 32" LCD TV with DVd goes for $249. Fairly good track record compared to ALDI Medion offerings, but still generic.

I haven't really bothered looking at second hand units, when a new product is that cheap I would rather pay more and get peace of mind with 12 mnths wrty.

    • Most BenQ monitor have a 3-yr warranty(some with 3 Years On-Site pick up as well)!
      Definitely the one mentioned above.

      • technically my dell u2311h I got off here (I think) is still under warranty but I'm not sure if it's covered for this type of thing. Also the fact it's difficult to explain, and probably impossible for them to reproduce short of me sending my ps3 slim to them is why I'm just like I'll buy a used tv that and I wouldn't mind playing some of my other consoles on something other then my shitty CRT.

The value of any good is the price that a buyer is willing to pay and a seller is willing to sell.

In this case EBAY is your friend.
I will always do a search on ebay for "Completed/sold listings" of an item. This gives me an idea of a price range, and also tells me at what price people ARE NOT willing to even bid.
When buying… I now know what is a bargain buy, vs a std price, vs overpriced.
