Best phone plan, high data, lower minutes?

Hi all,
was on a $39.99 virgin plan but contracts up and looking for a cheaper alternative. I don't really call that often but am looking for a good data plan. Currently have 500mb, which is enough, and rarely hit it but it can get up to 400mb/500mb in some months. Also my phone is only 3G (samsung galaxy s2), don't feel it too necessary to upgrade it right now, unless there is a really good deal.
Any of you ozbargainers know any good plans round the $20 mark. My current isp is TPG, so was thinking about connecting my mobile there but their $19.99 plan only has 100mb

Saw a vaya ad on whistleout, which seems pretty good for $18 but don't know anything about them, how good they are?

  • I've been with Amaysim for >12 months now with no issues… $39.95/month, 4GB data (unmetered social networking sites) with calls & text… For me, the calls/texts aren't important, more so the 4GB data per month with no lock in contract…

  • If you r looking for high data n few call, try amaysim pay as u go plan , $10 recharge will be valid for 90 days n every month add 1gig data pack for $10….plus you can use my referral link and0we both get $10 credit . so your first months data becomes free :). Pm me if you need my referral link…

  • Be careful of tpg, they have a fee to join them and one to leave them, and they recently changed the rules so their refundable deposits, are no longer refundable.

Any company that can change the rules like that I'd stay away from.

  • I took up the Vaya $18 deal in January, $650 in calls, 1.5 gb, (no contract) per month and have not encountered any problems. I'm in Melbourne and Vaya uses the Optus Network. I was with Optus, (same value but it was $49.95 a month) and there is absolutely no difference, except for the price. Hope this helps!

  • +1

Beware of Vaya's data billing - 1MB increments.
Also their customer service is virtually non-existent, but as long as you don't have any problems, it will be fine.
