    Cossacks is one of the greatest RTS games ever made.

      I agree. Cossacks is a brilliant game! I didn't care much for the second one though, the game-play was completely different.
      I still have the CDs of both games and the expansion for the first one sitting at home.

      For anyone who hasn't played - I believe there was a hidden mapmaker mode in the first game but it was all in Russian.

        I agree, the 2nd was just… different… and I was never able to really get into it. Which is a shame because they increased the unit cap from ~10,000 to 64,000 which would have made for some epic battles :D

        American Conquest is probably my pick of the series (especially for LANs) it's like Cossacks 1.5, slightly better graphics and some small modifications to gameplay, like the removal of towers and walls which makes for shorter matches.

    Was playing American Conquest until late last night. GF got angry and was throwing things around even after I shut down the laptop. In the process she hit a glass of water… and well, my laptop doesn't drink. Fortunately it was off at the time and it was working this morning so fingers crossed it doesn't kick the bucket any time soon. Damn bundle stars!

    CyberGenesys - you were right, American Conquest is a lot of fun! I got smashed the first few times against an easy computer but got the hang of it after a while.
