Harvey Norman Sales Prices

So I bought a shower head during the 'Big Easter Sale' at Harvey Norman a few days ago. The shower cost $186.45 and the sale tag was plastered all over the item.
I log into the HN site today to find that the shower is now back to normal price, at $185.
Gotta be kidding me.

Anybody else had this happen to them?

I contacted them and they refunded the $1.45. Its not the $1.45 that I care about though, its being mislead to believe the item was part of the sale (as it was advertised to have been). Surely that's not even legal?
Really losing my faith in HN….

Nothing illegal about it, items will always go down in price. Might have been a price alteration as a result of low stock due to the Easter sale.

As long as they gave you the refund, Nothing to worry about?

  • There are a bunch of laws about misleading advertising.
    E.g. for NSW:

Sounds pretty shonky to me, but at this point about all you can do is post to Ozb. Oh.
