  • should be ok

  • Not really going to fit in your pocket. My car also has a telephone pad on the dash, and can make phone calls and send texts, but I wouldn't call it a phone.

  • I still got the original tab with phone which works well with a bluetooth earpiece.
    It has aftermarket rom.

  • I had the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 3G that I bought from Catch Of The Day and did use it as my main phone for a while. As @stevednj48 stated, the GSM and 3G bands should support all networks.

Loved the ability to make private phone calls (i.e. you can actually put the device up to your ear and not be forced to use speaker phone). Some people may call it silly to do such a thing, but having the ability means that you are not forced to use a headset in order to take private conversations. While I'm not sure if the Tab 3 has it, I presume it should have.

The only issue was that it was a bit sluggish as it was only dual core and 1GB RAM, similar to the Tab 3, though the Tab 3 has a bit better CPU. The upside is that battery should last for over a day very easily.
