Hey, i have dodo internet living in tasmania and I lately i just cant seem to view specific websites
when i try and visit for example
http://forums.eagle.ru/
thepiratebay.se
and even facebook the pages just load for ever and will never load
if i go on a proxy browser the sites work perfect but still cannot load the pages without them
also i cant access the same sites on my mobile phone
i really feel quite pissed off as im paying for this crap and can view 5% of websites
PB is not illegal….
piratebay actually promotes legal original content unlike most torrent sites.
Having this exact same problem, tried every possible fix on my end, its definitely dodo.
After doing a trace route to thepiratebay.se, it drops out at around 20 hops, sometimes even drops out within the first 3.
Also the pirate bay is not an illegal site as such as it does not actually host any material, it just gives you the option of connecting to people that do, it also has lots of free content that's legal and is ok to share. Dodo are known for throttling sites and speeds, if anyone's doing something against the law its them.
i was on the phone to them for about 2 hours they just made me do a bunch of tracerts and ping on the phone she was like we do not block sites
however i still cant access the sites that i want to view
After reading some other posts about this it seems they have lost some links to European sites as well as other overseas areas, since there are other random sites that are doing this it's unlikely they are blocking piratebay. Hard to know until there's official word from dodo (maybe in a few weeks haha). Whats interesting is you can still use a proxy site to bypass this. As a temp fix try these:
proxy.org
eztv.it

Other isps had this problem but have fixed it already.
I've seen a issue that this might be related to.
My brother in law uses DODO.
DODO blocks my brother in law from using DNS other than theirs.
Their DNS doesn't give you the IP address of what your browser is looking for.
You need to use encrypted DNS somehow, (I think).

I'm with Exetel and pretty happy. Try them if you're on a budget, if not iinet or internode are highly recommended.

I get the correct IP for my person website whether I use 8.8.8.8 or Dodo's I get the same IP.
OP Dodo has been slow the page few days for overseas stuff.
