Very well targeted (not) Advert for OzBargain Website

I thought I would share the laugh I had when I saw this banner ad last night. Took a screen grab to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Here it is: http://1drv.ms/1fo9pMR

Ad for McLaren Sydney and Melbourne. Yeah that's right, as in McLaren the F1 car manufacturer! I recall the deal was very cheap at $399,000. Which in all honestly is probably very cheap for a McLaren. But on OzB where ozbargainers are haggling for $5 and get a high for getting a free coffee? LOL. enjoy.

    lol….

Unfortunately they are not controlled by OzBargain. They are targeted ads by Google and are based on your searches and the websites you recently visited.

    • LOL really? wow I must be getting ahead of myself.

O yeah, it must have been the Lamborghini deals I was searching for on ozbargain that gave it away. :)

The moderators were talking about this last night. Myself and another mod got similar McLaren ads show up last night. No idea why as I haven't been searching for cars and certainly not McLarens.

haha maybe your other half has been and giving you a hint?

You never know, there's probably a few OzBargainers making so many savings on their coffee or whatnot everyday with a goal to buy a Mclaren!

    • Yeah and that Ozbargainer's name is Broden. The margins he makes on resale of bargain buys would probs buy him 2 of these. ;p

    Thanks AdBlock

No need for AdBlock in this case. There's a toggle in your account settings to disable banner ads.

      • Hmm forgot about that!

      • Cool I didn't know that one. Thanks.

      • No need for AdBlock in this case.

why on earth would you choose to block ads only on a per site basis specially when most sites that have that option dont have the worst/intrusive/horrid ads anyway? seems kinda counter intuitive

        • why on earth would you choose to block ads only on a per site basis

I don't. Simply stating a fact that OzBargain has the option to disable ads.

  • At the moment I'm getting an ad for Gynaecology couches. I'm pretty sure I haven't been searching anything even remotely related to that.

    • ;)
