World of Warcraft Digital Battle Chest & Mists of Pandaria Digital Copy - $12.40 ea

150

Just saw this on the Battle.net app. Half price digital versions of WoW Battle Chest (includes lvls 1-85) and Mists of Pandaria Digital. Both were $24.95ea AUD, now $12.40 ea AUD.

Seems pretty cheap, especially for the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

  • Maad! I've been waiting for this!

  • I remeber the Battlechest was on sale at XMas, but I cannot recall the exact price. $10 US at a guess, so only $1 cheaper than it is now.

    • use a vpn to get US dollars (firefox/chrome addons work).
edit: lame your bnet account is already tied with a country, only can use aud

    • Vanilla Wow was $5 during Christmas and MOP was $10 IIRC. They regularly have these sales though to make their quarterly reports look good

    Seems pretty cheap

In terms of the intial monetary outlay, sure. And in terms of the money you'll save on an ongoing basis by declining to go out with friends or family because you promised your raid leader that you'd be available to tank Mogu'shan Vaults, doubly so.

But how much is your life worth? How much is your soul worth? What would you pay to gain back those weeks, months, years spent grinding and raiding for epics that you just end up disenchanting into worthless crystals and shards when the next expansion comes out because just a few levels in something better dropped off a cow that took just 3 seconds to kill?

    • Gotta love this stupid argument that always comes up with MMO's, particularly WoW. Believe it or not, you can actually play WoW and socialise with friends at the same point in your life…. Play WoW 3-4 hours a night, 2-3 nights a week, socialise 1-2 other nights, really not that hard is it?

Almost certainly think it was a joke…

All humour aside, it is certainly somewhat tragic to lose one's sense of it, particulary in the world of World of Warcraft.

When I was actually still playing, and still in a raiding guild, the amount of time we used to spend on that particular endeavour was a constant source of amusement. It had to be. I mean if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it, and own it, and laugh about it. Anything less really is a bit of a waste in my opinion.

  • how much is this a month? is it too late to start as a new player? lol im guessing yes :/

    • +8

      $16.50 AUD. Plus your soul.

    • Nah its not too bad. Been leveling a new character with my mate, in all honesty, we get more confused because we are trying to do what we used to do and not realising what has changed.

New players would prob be better off but its not hard to pick back up or start off.

  • sorry but my broadbrand cant afford this. 50GB telstra. not a deal. i bet not everyone here has unlimited broadbrand right?

this game is approx 25gb and it is nearly half of my monthly usage. no. i pass. would + the deal if it was a cd version ( i know i still have to update if i bought the cd version, but i can certainly avoid most of the 25 gb).

Local Internet cafe will have the files, take a hard-drive and copy. GG

      • -1

no thanks, my nearest internet cafe is in the CBD. 30 minute drive

    • If you want a CD version, check eBay, or borrow MoP off a friend. Plenty of people hock off the box once they've got the key.

    • i always buy cd versions of games, i will never buy digitally, especially bf3/4 etc. one of these games can eat up my usage completely within a day. i just think digital versions are a pain in the arse. admit it, mostly everyone have a limited usage right?

theres always a few gig of updates n fixes too!

        • yes, 2 gb only after u get the dvd of the game. i can handle that.

    • You can just copy the whole wow folder from someone and itll work. Wow doesnt copy any system files so you just login with your account. Dont have to even dl any files and you can even just use the persons addons

  • guess u guys missed the mop clearout at dick smith for $5 ea a while back.
wait till next expansion releases and mop will be very cheap

  • This and then WoD or Wildstar? :|

      • What kind of pings are you getting?

  • I don't see the Battlechest, only the three individual games/xpacs.
