Has anyone used http://www.freerunsaustraliaonline.com/?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this online store http://www.freerunsaustraliaonline.com/? They seem to have some good buys in running shoes but very little information about the store, their location etc so I'm a bit sceptical. Any comments from those who may have purchased from them would be appreciated.

Never bought from them but a quick look, no contact details, address, email address etc, just a webform…..dodgy.

Every pair of shoes on the site, various different models are all the same price…..dodgy, any retailer would surely be paying a different price for different models.

Paypal logo listed for protection but in the Payment details it states (PayPal may be added later). They take some credit cards it appears so you might ability to charge back if the items don't arrive as expected.

There is nothing anywhere that specifically states these are or are not genuine original Nike products. The only reference is the line in the returns section 'We are committed to your complete satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with our products, we will be happy to accept a return'. This normally means 'we make knockoff stuff but we don't think you will notice the difference until it is too late'.

In my opinion these are counterfeit Nike knockoff shoes being sold by pirates from China! I wouldn't buy from them. I havent checked out Wiggle/chainreaction/start fitness/Amazon etc but I would look there first as I know I would be getting the genuine thing, even if it cost me an extra $20 or so (haven't checked).

  • Thanks. Since I don't buy o'seas often, I was sceptical. Good to hear another person's thoughts and hear that I wasn't wrong to think they might be dodgy. I'll look elsewhere. Thanks again.

    100% fake.

  • I'm convinced. Taking a look at wiggle and start fitness. Haven't found what I'm after yet - but at least I'm not losing money on fakes! Thanks Ozbargain.

    • Hehe the email address containing the word 'ruse' would be enough for some people.

  • Not looking good, is it? Adds up to a "no buy".

  • You can pick up Free Runs on sale for ~$100ish, I wouldn't risk it just to save a potential twenty bucks.

    • I definitely take your point. It's more about finding the colour I was after than the $20. Full price they are $160. On sale, about $120 or, if really lucky, about $110. Still better to pay full price than deal with a dodgy website.

Go for it. (just use paypal)

    • Paypal will refund you if you don't receive the item or its counterfeit.

Neggers… if you don't know that- get off ozbargain.

  • Free run 5's have recently been updated this season and you should be able to get the first style design on clearance. I think amart or rebel had a 30 percent off deal on all nike footwear? Otherwise check wiggle and other uk sites, and don't forget your DFO centres!

I'm not even going to open that link, it's defn fake … However in saying that, IF you don't mind buying replicas with the knowledge they will be inferior, and are happy with the price reflected, then it is just like any other item you buy. I would personally stay away but I have seen good attempts with today's manufacturing technology. Just remember shoes have to be good enough to wear daily, especially for your kids, and especially if you are a runner like me.

    • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I found the style I was after at a rebel store. I didn't know they had a discount on, and I couldn't get the size I wanted at my local, but I found it within reasonable travelling distance. Definitely better than buying cheap fakes for my purposes (gym training sessions). I hadn't heard of amart, but took a look and will keep them in mind in future. Personally I like the first style of the free run 5's and will buy them ahead of the updated versions that I am seeing in store in the last few weeks, so the discounted older versions are a win for me. Thanks again, problem solved.

  • Hello Miss Dior; have have you checked out there shipping method; shipping delay- while as the climate or other reasons the delivery may need more days; good on you col.

  • depending on the weather the items can be delivered to your Dior.

    • I like your sense of humour. Fortunately I won't need delivery now that kickling has brought me up to date on the rebel discounts. I won't have to worry about the "climate or other reasons", I can just drive to rebel's dior. :)

  • You're welcome, also wiggle have jacked up prices recently so things on sale in physical stores now actually are competitive! I agree, old style free runs are much nicer.
