Kia Optima - Any Comments

Hi,

I am looking at downgrading from a Nissan Maxima 3.5L (2007 model) to a smaller sized engine (about 2.4L)new car.

I was wondering if anybody had any opinion of the Kia Optima as it looks about the best value for money.

I know Kia used to have a bad reputation but they seemed to have lifted their game is the last couple of years as now they are a part of the Hyundai family

Any comments greatly appreciated

  • I wouldn't mind an Optima but I'd definitely go for the Accord Euro. I sat inside a i45 and the plastics, vinyl etc. felt really cheap. I sat inside the Accord Euro (Luxury) and not even joking the materials felt on par, if not better with base model C220/320i's which I've been in.

How much more is the Euro?

  • +1

I would not buy an optima simply because it is not value for money, unless they are giving you a really good deal.
Mazda 6 is class leading or Toyota Camry can go as low as 27K on sales.

One thing you will miss is the V6 power, the last Aurion sale was 29990 driveaway and I would go for that in the ballpark you are spending.

    • Yea I would go for the Aurion, I have driven one for the past two years and it is a great ride and decent on fuel too.

Ever thought about buying an imported car from Japan? They are great value, superior in all aspects than mjority of the cars sold (and made) here in Australia.
