Those $55 projectors look alright but I like this $372 one best.

  • UC-40 does it for me. It's such a PITA when you work for companies with slow IT asset management, and a program of 100+ people only have 1 mobile projector. Time to go entrepreneur and just take matters into my own hands, literally.

  • Ok whats the difference between native resolution and "maximum" resolution

Why would it default to the native 320X240 (UC28)
or 480 x 320 (UC-40) rather than the maximum, is there some trick that the average joe wouldnt understand for getting to the maximum resolution. TIA

Its interesting the UC-40 gets great reviews all on the same day about the same time. Isnt it amazing, that of all had the same idea to give a 5 star review. Guess the energy of the universe struck them all together.

I'm a little suspicious of the reviews on these projectors, one has no reviews but the others all have 5 star reviews with each category given 5/5. No review mentions any cons whatsoever. The language used in them all seems to be similar too…

ADDITION: The 6th of March seems to be a common day for people to make reviews!

    • +1

Our reviews was written by our customer on different days, but each review can't be shown up before we approve to, we centralize to process some reviews on 6th March, so they are the approved time on the website. GearBest.com is trying to offer the best service for you all.

And do you only approve the 5 star ones? For very cheap projectors I highly doubt everyone would be giving 5 star reviews!

    Hi Rep,

I notice that the poll has now finished. Does that mean that I won?

    • Only 6 people commented and 2 voted, and the rep didn't remember. He was probably hoping that a lot more people got involved.

      • Projectors werent good enough to get any attention

    • Has the rep contacted you yet?

      • +1

No, not yet. I'll send him a PM and report back.

    Hi gearbest,

Thanks again for running the competition. For those interested, here is my review:

    Shipping:
Overall, quite fast for a Chinese company. I provided my address on 23/5, item shipped 27/5 and delivery "attempted" by TOLL on 30/5. Due to TOLL being dodgy and not leaving a delivery card or even knocking on my door I didn't receive it until 6/6 but this is no fault of Gearbest, probably just the local courier being lazy/dodgy.

    Setting up:
Was a little worried as the instruction book doesn't give any detail about setting it up and I have never owned a projector before. Luckily it was very easy. You just plug it into the wall, take off the lens cap, put in a dvd and away you go. Word of warning, there is some cardboard packaging inside the dvd player that must be taken out before switching on (found out the hard way…). There is a dial at the back to adjust the screen height and focusing is done by turning the lens at the front.

    Quality of components:
The product is let down a little bit here by a couple of really cheap looking components. The game controller is about the flimsiest piece of plastic junk you could imagine but I never intended to play the games disc anyway so not a big deal. The power cord has an Asian style (2 round plugs) connection with a travel adaptor to use with Australian plugs. The travel adaptor is a really cheap version though and always feels loose in the plug so I think it could easily fall out. Apart from this the rest of the cords are fine, remote is decent and the projector itself actually looks quite well built.

    Picture Quality:
I'm not an expert in this area but I think it's pretty good. Obviously not as good as my tv but a lot better than the projectors we have at work. I spent about 5 minutes playing with some of the settings (brightness, contrast, etc.) which improved the picture. See these beforeand after comparisons. The projector was placed around 4 metres from the wall which created an approximately 80 inch screen. Photos were taken on my mobile and in the middle of the day, so not ideal conditions, and it was still fine to watch. I imagine it would look a lot better at night or in a darker room.

    Playback:
DVD played with no problems at all. Had some difficulty with playing videos from USB though as it seems to have a max file of around 1gb that it can handle. Tried mp4, avi and flv files and none worked unless they were under 1gb. Sound quality was fine for it's purpose, similar to most in-built tv speakers.

    Overall:
I would give 4 out of 5 stars.

If anyone has any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Rep, I couldn't post this review on your website as it wasn't purchased through my account but feel free to copy it there if you want.

    • Dear donga100,
Very thanks for your useful and honest reviews, however, the projector is out of stock, so we can't make a deal at this time. We will post another projector deal soon, please keep following our new deals. Thanks.
