Was looking for Milo for my kids. Seems to be the cheapest I can find at the moment. Works out to be $8/kg. Not the cheapest ever, but it will have to do.

Oh yea, forgot. Big W seems to have cheap specials on Batteries at the moment as well. eg.

Milo almost never goes on sale anymore. I remember buying 8 or 9 tins of the stuff about 5 years ago when they had 850g (or similar) for $2.50 at a local store. I would have bought more but an old aged pensioner filled her trolley up with the remaining tins before I could get more. That was a good year, I think they lasted 12 months or so :)

This is almost normal pricing is it not? Better than the Coolies pricing though so I'll +1 it since milo sales are so rare nowadays.

EDIT: Unrelated story worth a few laughs, I had a pest inspection done yesterday and as the guy crawled through the manhole under the house he saw a milo tin (I'd hidden as a joke from someone a few days ealier) and assumed it was a drug stash, apparently milo tins are popular for that (?!), saying he see's it all the time. I busted it open to assure him it was indeed just yummy ol' Milo :)

    • In the last 5 years, the cheapest I have seen it is $7/kg, seen maybe 3 times. This is when I buy 10 cans of the stuff or whatever convenient number that will get me the maximum cashback/fuel vouchers/points. $8/kg price you do get maybe once a month or once every 2 months.

      • Okay thanks for clarification on the prices

To be fair regarding my $2.50 deal mentioned, it cane from a place who sell resell supermarket products nearing their 'best before' dates. Obviously Coolies would never get that low. That said the Milo still met my expectations. Funny the things we remember.

        Off to Big-W tomorrow

  • I'm used to around just under $10/kg. Problem is storage in a small apartment, and not looking after it so moisture gets in.

Good tip here on using a spoon to cut the foil and not your fingers:

  • I saw the same deal on Sunday in COLES…

    • Coles sells the 1.25kg for $12, the Bigw tin is 1.5kg
