Flights to Europe from Australia (PER) RTN over Christmas Period 2014/15?

Following on from Mikeologos awesome post about flights to Europe, I have started doing some research into flights back around the holiday season but am not having much luck with options. I travel every year to see family/drink Guinness and would be great to hear if anyone has any tips or has booked a trip for this period already at a good price.

I am flexible in terms of departure dates in December but would like to get back to Australia (Perth) at start of January.

I am also wondering is it too early to get a good price - what's your experience?

    I've found that travel over the Christmas/NYE period is one of the most expensive times you can fly unfortunately. If you follow the tips in Mike's post you will most likely get the best deal for the dates you want to fly, but they aren't going to be as competitive as the $700-odd prices he was getting
