Anyone know how UPS transfers stuff from Sydney to Brisbane?

I ordered something from US and they shipped it with UPS.
Took about 2 days to go all the way from US to Hawaii.
Arrived in Sydney or Sunday, customs and everything cleared on Monday, and departed Sydney on Monday.
So, I assumed it might come on Tuesday(Yesterday) as what Fedex, DHL does.
But since my UPS package left Sydney on Monday night, there has been no update so far…

Even they transfer it with a truck, it would take about 12 hours or something (took me about 8 hours by car, so think it will take not too much longer).

but after more than 36 hours it left Sydney, no updates yet.

Expected delivery is today.

Have no idea what is going on…

  • Most of UPS deliveries have an estimated delivery date/time available at the UPS tracking page. Did you check that?

    • ye as i stated on the post i said today lol

  • I personally think they would be in some sort of joint coopetition-ey thing where by another carrier takes it to brisbane at a discounted rate as UPS probably doesn't have the infrastructure to take it there themselves. I could be wrong but yeah its probably being handled by someone else but will get to brisbane and probably be delivered by UPS peeps or maybe even toll or someone else…

  • I have ordered quite a few things from the US shipped by UPS and have often found that it takes longer to get from Sydney to Melbourne (3-4 days often) than from its source to Sydney (2 days like yours). It's frustrating. The tracking also doesn't seem to get updated quickly once it leaves Sydney
