Rooting LG G2 (D802T)

Hey guys,

A friend of mine bought the G2 but hates the software. He has tried putting CyanogenMod on it but can't root the phone. All the G2 root examples out there are for the D802 and haven't worked on the D802T.

I know the G2 is popular here so can anyone please point him in the right direction of how to root and CyanogenMod his phone?
