HP Pavilion x360 discussions

What do you guys reckon about this bad boy? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/hp/pavilion-x360-11-6-inc…

I was considering a ThinkPad Yoga, now I know that they're leagues apart. But I've tried this device in store and it actually feels quite nice. The hinge is solid, and it's surface is fairly nice to the touch. The keyboard travel is ok, and I'm not 100% about batt life or performance. It's baytrail and probably lasts around 5-6 hours. I'm just impressed at the surprising low price point, I never figured HP to release something fairly worthwhile at the right price point.

Comparing this to the T100 for example, the keyboard feels much better and the device just looks better imo. On the other hand the battery life probably doesn't last near as long.

  • Slow junk, and the screen is crap to boot:

"The HP’s colour accuracy is dreadful: the colour temperature of 7,294K is a long way off the 6,500K ideal, coming in looking far colder than it should. It’s paired with an average Delta E of 9.79, which means similarly poor colour accuracy. Both those results are significantly poorer than the Lenovo,"

"Battery life is poor, too: the Pavilion X360 lasted only 4hrs 25mins in our light-use test."

"It’s the X360’s touchscreen that really lets the side down. To keep the budget in check, HP has used a low-quality TN panel, and it shows. The maximum brightness of 202cd/m2 is mediocre, and the contrast ratio of 217:1 is disappointing even by budget standards. For a display designed to be viewed from every angle, the washed-out colours, low brightness and narrow viewing angles are a terrible combination."

Specs say 320GB SSD, and 320GB HDD… My money's on HDD = slow.
However officeworks stock it so you would be able to get it for $483 with price match, which isn't too bad.
