I just booked the jetstar 10 birthday sale for $199 one way Gold Coast to narita I'm positive I booked for June 2015, but I've received the confirmation for June 2014 when the sale price wasn't on.
Does any one else recall what the sale dates were ? Anyone else had this problem ?
Yep, only one year. OP must have misread the year.
You can always try for a refund, but Jetstar are most likely to decline.

rock up at the airport on the arranged date early evening ummm that flight left at 8AM this morning

Have you tried calling them? Once I booked my departing flight to Japan a day early in error and I called them as soon as I realised (soon as I got the booking confo) and they rebooked free of charge. This was a couple years ago, but it's worth a shot at least?
I just read you post and maybe it's too late now.
Once I have been told that bookings can be changed/refunded within 24 hours free of charge.
And I am pretty sure it was Jetstar…
If you call them immediately they may be able to help and speak to a manager. They may give a credit .
You can't book June 15 only up to 17th May 15 ?
